Department Projects
South Chad Irrigation Project (SCIP)
A large-scale irrigation initiative launched in 1974 to mitigate the effects of drought in the Lake Chad region by developing 67,000 hectares of irrigable land for agricultural productivity.
Baga Polder Project
A key irrigation initiative commissioned in 1982 to develop 20,000 hectares of irrigable land near Lake Chad, enhancing agricultural productivity in Borno State through sustainable water management.

Alau Dam
A multi-purpose dam completed in 1988 with a capacity of 112 million cubic meters, designed to irrigate 8,000 hectares in Jere Bowl, supply water to Maiduguri, and develop tourism.
