CBDA Hosts Food Security Sector Working Group and NEMA for Strategic Partnership Talks

The visit aimed to foster collaboration and synergy among stakeholders, promoting food security and Agricultural Development in Borno and Yobe states. The CBDA's leadership expressed willingness to explore partnership opportunities, leveraging its expertise and resources to enhance regional food security. This visit marks a significant step towards enhancing food Security and Agricultural development in Borno and Yobe state.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA) headquarters played host to a high-level delegation from the Food Security Sector Working Group of Borno and Yobe States, alongside officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The courtesy visit aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities focused on enhancing food security and boosting agricultural development across the region.

Discussions centered on harmonizing irrigation projects for better efficiency, joint plans to organize farmer training programs to improve skills and productivity, developing strategies for monitoring and evaluating farming activities, and great emphasis was made on the need for coordinated efforts to support farming communities

The CBDA leadership expressed strong support for the initiative and reaffirmed its readiness to partner with all relevant agencies and stakeholders to advance regional agricultural goals in line with national food security efforts.
