CBDA Participates in 8th NIWE International Water Conference (IWC 2025)
CBDA MD Alh. Tijjani Musa Tumsah joined the Min. of Water Resources & other RBDA leaders at the 8th NIWE International Water Conference in Makurdi (16–18 Sept). Discussions focused on AI, wastewater reuse, flood harnessing, climate change & sustainable water management. #IWC2025 🌊
The Managing Director of the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA), Alh. Tijjani Musa Tumsah, joined the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and other River Basin Development Authority leaders at the 8th NIWE International Water Conference (IWC 2025). The three-day event, held from 16th – 18th September 2025 at the College of Health Sciences Auditorium, Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University (formerly Benue State University), Makurdi, provided a robust platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration in the water sector.
The conference focused on advancing sustainable water resources management and explored critical themes such as:
- Leveraging AI and innovative technologies for urban water supply.
- Wastewater recycling and reuse to achieve SDG 6.
- Flood and rainwater harnessing for sustainable water supply.
- New treatment solutions for emerging contaminants.
- Tackling infrastructural decay in Nigeria’s water systems.
- Addressing climate change impacts on urban water and food security.
With participants from industry and academia, the conference highlighted policy interventions, capacity building, and research directions needed to transform Nigeria’s water sub-sector.
CBDA’s participation underscores its commitment to sustainable water management, innovation, and resilience in line with national priorities and global best practices.
