CBDA Leadership Inspects Garin Gada & Gashuwa Projects, Affirms Support

The CBDA Management Team, led by Board Chairman Prof. (Engr) Abdu Dauda Biu and MD/CEO Alh. Tijjani Musa Tumsah, embarked on a 3-day duty tour from May 27, 2025, to minor project offices in Garin Gada and Gashuwa to assess activities and engage with stakeholders.

The Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA) Management Team, led by Board Chairman Prof. (Engr) Abdu Dauda Biu and MD/CEO Alh. Tijjani Musa Tumsah, embarked on a 3-day duty tour starting Tuesday, May 27, 2025, to minor project offices in Garin Gada and Gashuwa.

Key Highlights of the Tour:

  1. Emir of Damaturu Visit: The team paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Damaturu, paying homage and discussing matters of mutual interest.
  2. Garin Gada Visit:
    • The Officer-in-Charge, Sa'adatu Aliyu, briefed the management on project conditions and needs.
    • Proposals for sweet potato and Gini corn harvesting were discussed.
    • The MD/CEO assured the station of CBDA's support and the provision of necessary tools.
  3. Gashuwa Visit:
    • The Officer-in-Charge, Ishaya Ali, presented the historical background of the project station.
    • Farmers' representatives shared their achievements and challenges.
    • The MD/CEO promised to address the challenges and provide necessary support.
  4. LAVA Project Inspection:
    • The team inspected the pumping station constructed in 2022/23 for irrigation purposes.
    • The MD/CEO encouraged staff at both stations towards effective project execution.

This duty tour demonstrates the CBDA Management's commitment to its mandate and stakeholder engagement. The interactions and observations from the tour are expected to lead to improved project implementation and support.
