CBDA Participates in 3-Day Stakeholders’ Engagament on Flood Response in Borno State.

CBDA participates in a 3-day stakeholders’ engagement on Flood Response organized by NEMA and BOSEMA where it reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving disaster resilience and safeguarding lives and properties of vulnerable communities within the region.

The Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA) actively participated in a 3-day stakeholders’ engagement on Flood Response organized by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA). The event took place from July 29th to 31st, 2025, in Maiduguri, Borno State. 

The engagement brought together critical stakeholders involved in disaster risk management to strengthen coordination mechanism, enhance disaster preparedness, and ensure a more effective and timely response to flood emergencies within the state. ‘

Representing CBDA at the event was Engr. Mohammed Shettima, Executive Director Engineering, who stood in for the Managing Director, Alhaji Tijjani Musa Tumsah. He was accompanied by Engr. Yahaya M. Usman, Chief Civil Engineering, Mohammed Bukar Alibe, Public Relations Officer/Head of Information, and Mohammed Garba, Planning Officer I. 

The program featured expert led-lectures, interactive knowledge sharing sessions, and practical demonstrations designed to build technical capacity, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and promote a proactive approach to flood response. 

The CBDA remains committed to supporting initiatives aimed at improving disaster resilience, and safeguarding lives and properties in communities vulnerable to flood risks within the region.
