CBDA pays courtesy visit to Borno State SSG, seeking to strengthen partnership on Alau Dam safety.
On Thursday, 22nd May 2025, the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA), led by Chairman Prof. Abdu Dauda Biu and MD/CEO Alh. Tijjani Musa Tumsah, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the State Government of Borno, Alh. Bukar Tijjani.
The visit was aimed at expressing solidarity with the Borno State Government and discussing urgent measures to prevent future flooding around the Alau Dam, following last year’s incident on September 10th, 2024.
The SSG acknowledged CBDA’s concern and highlighted the proactive steps taken by H.E. Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, including the formation of a high-level committee led by the Commissioner of Water Resources to tackle the issue.
CBDA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the state to ensure safety, sustainability, and disaster resilience around key water infrastructure.
